High-Performance Biomechanical Energy Scavenging from Human Motions

Dr. Khaligh’s research on Biomechanical energy harvesting is mainly focused on novel high power density, electromagnetic energy harvesting technologies from MEMS scale to Mesoscale and even higher power levels. The research involves studying unique integrated power electronic interfaces capable of maximizing the extracted power over wide frequency ranges compatible with nonlinear human motions as well as improving walking efficiency through utilizing the negative work cycles.
